Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Nothing eaten... Now let's not get CRAZY! I subscribe to the 80/20 rule. Eat sensibly 80 percent of the time and allow yourself a treat now and then. Seems to work for my wife and I. I also try to get to the gym at least 2 to 3 times per week. Good luck to all.
RC

That attitude is exactly why I gained back the thirty pounds that I lost last year. I have visited your site lately , and I am eating healthy again. Thanks so much for your site. You are so motivational! I have a very short deadline to lose my weight, so I am keeping busy with exercising and eating healthy.

I'm so glad to see that you aren't willing to toss it all out the window. I remember after a .8 gain (yes, 0.8 as in less than 1 lb), I almost went ballistic. I was so upset I couldn't stay for the meeting and went through the Popey's drive thru on my way home. Later that evening, after I felt like I was going to hurl from all the crap I ate, I smacked myself in the head to get it on straight. I counted the nonsense I had eaten and it was roughly 30 points. YIKES. I ate "clean" for the rest of the week and ended up showing a loss of 4 pounds the next week. I could have tossed it all aside and gained again.
Thanks for all your support Roni! :)

The starting over mentality really messed me up for a long time. Since I rejoined WW, I haven't been using it because I want this weight to come off soon!

One of my favorite sayings that's used on the boards a lot is, "Make your next bite Core."

You can do it!

Don't be too hard on yourself! 2lbs could easily be water weight. I exercise a lot and weigh 1.5 lbs more now than I did pre-preg. but my clothes fit better and I'm more muscular. Don't underestimate your new muscle weight! One of my good friends is a personal trainer and she's adamant about not going by the scale (of course I think all of us who have ever lost weight, have to go by it to stay on track). You have a great attitude! Keep it up!

I don't know... I guess you could look at the 2 lb gain as being Easter Candy and such. Or you can look at it as a lot of hard work exercising and its mostly muscle mass that you really put on.

I guess it depends on how you look at things. I personally think it's muscle weight. How can you NOT put on muscle weight with all the exercising you've been doing?

So, I'm wondering if you should factor this into the equation too?
Plus, aren't you supposed to weigh yourself in the morning? I would have a least a 2 lb gain each night too, after a day of eating.
I think you're looking for a specific number... And that number might change as you gain muscle. So, if you're eating right for the most part and exercising. I wouldn't beat yourself up too much. I think you're doing awesome, from where I'm sitting. You don't give yourself enough credit for the "good" that you do or have done each "day". Don't let one or two days, mess with your head like that... :)

You are exactly right, those "start tomorrow" and "all or nothing" thoughts DO NOT work. Been there, done that and have the big ol' ass to prove it! LOL However, the moment of surrendering into those feelings is very sweet and that makes it hard NOT to give in. But tomorrow does come and the it's the regret and guilt that gets ya! If you play, you WILL eventually pay....no free rides or free for all eating!
