Totally Random Friday
February 23, 2008
I have no brain power tonight so I’m randomly posting things that I’ve been meaning to tell you guys. This weeks been CRAZY.
First, on the workout front, I did manage to get in TWO Racquetball games which is a good thing because I didn’t get a chance to go to the gym. However, I forgot to tell you guys my BIG trainer news and free weight progress (at least I think I did – told you, CRAZY week). I had 3 sessions with the trainer who I absolutely LOVE! She has taught me so much. She (and all of you guys) were totally right. I’m so hooked on the free weights. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to my Nautilus routine again. I even went once by myself to the free weight room and worked out among all the muscle bound dudes! LOL It was quite empowering!
As for the BIG Trainer news, at the end of our last session she asked me if I would like to work out WITH her. At first I was a little dumbfounded, what did she mean with her. Then she says, “well you are so motivated and just about at my level” ***Screech*** Hold the phone! At her level?!? I couldn’t believe what she was saying. She actually saw me as her equal on the fitness front. Of course I said, YES! I’m just psyched to have a workout buddy and it’s just icing on the cake she’s a trainer too! All I have to say is, my gosh, I’ve come a long way.
Other news, I posted a new video on GreenLiteBites, this time the toddler definitely steals the show. We made Polenta Pizza together and it was a blast!
I also posted a page with my breast milk storage tip. I’ve mentioned it a few times in posts and discussed how it gave me the idea for the frozen flat meat tip. I realize it’s not exactly a weight watchen topic or a recipe idea but I really wanted to share the tip with other breastfeeding moms. So please pass on the link if you know any who is expecting.
Other then that, my in laws are in town this weekend and I didn’t make it to a meeting again this week. Even so, I feel great!
My plan this weekend is to catch up on some blog reading and respond to the comments I may have missed. Oh and great comments on this weeks question! I love reading everyone’s insight.
Good night and have a GREAT weekend!

Your trainer offering to work out with you is pretty impressive.
The next hurdle is more difficult: getting them to pay you.

Great work with both raquetball and free weights! I personally like free weights better than machines, too! And yes, it has been crazy lately. Seems like the week before Christmas when you have a million things to do and events to go to! And I seriously don’t know what was nine months ago, but so many friends are having babies!!! Like 7 now….just glad it isn’t me again!

I like the free weights better also. But, I’m too intimidated to go workout with the men (even though I know they’re focused on what they’re doing and don’t give a hoot about what I’m doing). I tend to do toning/training at home and it works well for now ~ but I really do need to start using the weights at the gym so I can increase the number of lbs I lift.

Hi Roni,
I hope you don’t mind me posting an except from my post yesterday, I thought you’d appreciate the logic behind it. One of the commentor’s on my blog, Christa, noted yourself and your blog as a motivator and a reason for her to start blogging :) I gave full credit to you for keeping my engines roaring and going full steam ahead. When you posted about “what body part do you love”…my head started racing and I needed to give myself more reasons to continue forward to an end result like yourself!
Here it is:
My ABC’s of dieting…..
A- Accountability is the key to success
B- Believe in yourself
C- Care about your self esteem, image, and confidence
D- Dream about a skinny you
E- Express yourself daily about how you are feeling
F- Focus on your goals
G- Give yourself a pat on the back every day
H- Happiness is in you- you just need to find it
I- Inspire yourself daily
J- Justify your actions and move forward
K- Keep going, don’t stop now!
L- Love yourself
M- Manage your time
N- Nurse your wounds and get back up on the wagon
O- Organize your life
P- Pursue your dreams and never give up
Q- Quest for the best, you deserve it!
R- Relish the journey
S- Simplicity is the key
T- Talk about your problems and how you are feeling
U- Unite with your inner-self and find your true beauty
V- Vent and write down your thoughts
W- Walk and be active daily
X- Xerox pictures of your ‘former’ self and place them on the fridge
Y- Yearn for a life of happiness and longevity
Z- Zero tolerance for failure!
Cheers!

I think that is great about a trainer wanting to work out with you- that is a great compliment! Who knows, maybe you will become a trainer- that is something to strive for maybe? I have a hard time with lifting weights- my right elbow always clicks- so I use those stretchy bands with the handles on them- I really like those. Have a great day:)

Awesome Roni! Trainers need motivators too and you’re an awesome motivator. I think it’s great that you’re not feeling intimidated. You shouldn’t! You’re so focused and send off positive vibes to everyone you interact with. Keep it up! It’s great to see how empowering lifting is. Way to go tackle that weight room! Ladies, what are you waiting for?

I just put the link to your web-site in my journal on Calorie Count (About.com) - I’m suggesting each individual who reads my journal, come to your site.
Most of them are struggling with weight-loss problems; I’m the lucky one who joined because my husband is over-weight (’m not).
I figure I should ’steer them here’…better than CC in my opinion. Diane
