Note to Self…
February 11, 2008
Remember this feeling.
I stayed with my food plan and after a long day of work (including a round of racquetball in the morning) I came home hungry. Now any other day when I saw the pizza the husband ordered I would have eaten ALL the leftovers. Tonight, I closed the box, cut up, sautéed some veggies and topped them with some of my leftover sauce.
I FEEL GREAT! Better then great, in control.

I have to smile every time I see the post start with: “Note to self”, because it is always a valuable lesson gleaned from experience. Thanks for another one, teach!

Question for you, do you ever get mad at the husband for ordering the pizza in the 1st place?

Thanks guys!
Anna - I wouldn’t say mad, the man has to eat! LOL He ordered it for him and the toddler since I wasn’t home for dinner. When I came home it was a funny conversation with my self…. “Awww man YOU ordered PIZZA!! , I’m really hungry too. Maybe I’ll have one slice. No No NO I know I can’t have just one.”
So I pulled out the veggies and he packed up the pizza. LOL

Once I smell that pizza in the house, I’m afraid it is usually over for me. I made breakfast for dinner last night, within plan and all. But when I woke up at 2 in the morning and could still smell bacon, I decided no more bacon at dinner!

that’s so great! what you did was the hard part-not just staying OP but passing up the food that was already prepared and making something for yourself. I always seem to get daunted by the fact that I have to cook something when I’m so hungry even though it just takes a minute…and I feel so much better afterwards!

I can relate. I came home from school around 8:30 last night, and instead of having ice cream and cookies, I made a salad with lots of yummy veggies, and EVOO and vinegar. 2 points and fabulously filling!

Love it! You are doing amazing…as always. I think I need to do the same thing and plan my meals out ahead of time and then just follow thru.

Roni: Way to go! Veggies over Pizza. What a difficult but great choice. Pat yourself on the back, you deserve it.

Roni- I have to ask…Are you doing Core? I thought you were but I’ve noticed your food choices haven’t been Core…so I was just curious!
Keep it up!

anon - I’m Kinda doing CORE, I guess my version of it. Besides the yogurt and muffin what wasn’t CORE?

That is SO impressive! I would have a huge struggle in that situation.
But I know that great feeling– and I’m glad you have it!

I’m not trying to criticize you or anything! I was honestly just wondering if you were doing Core. Since you asked, the granola bar and cheese stick (unless it was fat free) isn’t Core either.

Thanks Anon! no offense taken. I just use the CORE list as a guideline. I appreciate the “lesson”, I forgot about the granola bar and the cheese was low fat not non-fat.
