Roni - I think you are amazing! DOn't get down about your weight- remember muscle weighs more than fast. I think you are gaining muscle so causing a little upswing in weight. Also, go to Self.com to see your happy weight. I think you'll be surprised with what it would be! By the way, I put in the information you have given us about you and it came up higher than what you are at now! Thanks for inspiring me to keep going!

I just found your site a few days ago and I love it! Our stories are so familiar. I lost 25 pds. on WW in 2002 and luckily have kept it off. However, these last 20 pounds have proved to be quite a challenge! Let's see...it's 2008 and I still haven't got them off? This is the year!

Your motivation page was very inspiring and so true! I look forward to reading more.

Christie

Roni--
I subscribe to your site & really enjoy your blog as well as green lite bites. I've never posted before, but have to tonight-- my scale reading was up five pounds this AM after lots of hard work- eating great and running. I was so discouraged and have been thinking about that stupid number all day. I loved reading what you wrote today & took it as encouragement from a friend. Thank you! I love not being on this journey alone!

Roni: You are the queen of healthy. Keep it up and the scale will catch up with you. You are committed and doing a great job. Don't forget to tell yourself that every now and again.

I think you might be gaining muscle! I looked at your progress chart, and I think the pattern of weight gain coincides with when you began working out. Are you measurements the same?

I think you'll be fine, and it's more important that you're seeting and excellent example for your son. That is the true reward! If only more mothers were as smart about nutrition as you are. Childhood obesity (which tuns into adult obesity) would not be the problem is it today.

You know the drill, so I'm not even going to repeat it. I will say it's all good. It is all good.

But I will say that your motivations are worthwhile and admirable, so keep up the good work!

I've never played racketball. Maybe I should try it!

Roni, you are the whole reason I started my own blog and journey. And now I'm getting a tummy tuck in April! Keep going. It's not about perfection, it's about progress. This journey is so much more complicated that we all thought huh?

Hang in there!!!

Roni - I did not get to respond to yesterday's question, but today's topic is just an extension of it, in my case. My almost 15 year old daughter has recently committed to following WW with me. She has been a challenge to "raise that way" all her life. She is extremely strong-willed and her attitude has resulted in her weighing in at 201 last week (she is 5'8" tall, thank goodness). It was the first time I've been "allowed" to witness her on a scale in years. We also took measurements so she can see more progress than just the number on the scale.

I'm a WW lifetime member and have tried to make good food a priority for our family (lots of fruits and veggies, no frying foods at home, water or milk as a beverage, whole grains and fiber). I'm praying that this is the time that "takes". She has been on WW program for 1 whole week (even through a Super Bowl party and remarks from her friends at school that "your mom is feeding you 'rabbit food'). She seems to be gaining momentum everyday.

So, the answer to yesterday's question would have to be: I want to lose weight to be a positive example for my children. At this point in my life, I will have to be completely on program to ensure that my daughter is completely on program. I have only 15-20 pounds to lose, but I want this to be the last time I have to lose even that much. And, I selfishly want this to be the only time my daughter must travel this road (it's ultimately up to her, though).

Thanks for letting me say this.

Holly
