A Valentine’s Day Plan
February 14, 2008
We decided to take the toddler out to Bertucci’s Brick Oven Pizza to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I went in opened eyed and with a plan. You need a plan for a place like that. Well, I NEED a plan for a place like that.
The plan was simple, order a soup so I can nibble on the toddler’s pizza and share an appetizer with the husband. It worked! I don’t feel like an overstuffed whale right now. I mean, I ate a bit more then I would have if I ate at home but way less then I would have a few years ago at a place like that.
It all comes down to being prepared!
I hope you had a great Valentine’s Day!
Thanks to FamilyFun.com for the cute photo!
PS The freezer trick is posted!

Do they do Mickey Mouse shaped pizzas as well? I’d be all over that.

Today I wrote about the same thing. Normally, I would go face first in to a large popcorn by myself. I would go and stand by the butter drain pipe and “let ‘er go”….it would have been just as well for me to stick my tongue under and drink it! But, those days are gone. I made healthy choices last night. I opted to eat the tacos- something with substance…rather than stuffing my face on unnecessary junk food.
Glad you had a great day too!

I think you have hit upon the key to losing weight and successfully keeping it off. A while ago I took a ‘personality quiz’ on the type of eater I am. It said that I will be more successful if I plan my meals in advance. And it was right. I do this both at home and when we go out. But if I know we are going out to eat, I look at the online menu and decide what I’m going to have before we even walk in the door. You know what? It WORKS! I have been able to successfully lose weight and keep it off. When I go up a few pounds, it’s usually because I haven’t ‘planned’ my meals.
I’m proud of you!! Keep it up!!

I love Bertuccis! We used to go there for girls day out all the time when I lived in Atlanta. Way to go on eating smarter. :-)

Yummy! Way to go on keeping it in check, but still enjoying what you love. Having a plan – that’s key! You’ve *so* got it together.
