thanks for keeping it in perspective. sometimes i get so "down" when the scale is "up" that i forget it doesn't always reflect all of my efforts and it takes a while to catch up to equilibrium. it's just a number...i gotta keep telling myself that.
you really have a great outlook on it all. i appreciate your honesty...showing your own personal frustrations even after coming so far and learning so much is inspiring to me.

Keep it up and stick with it. Remember there is more than one way to lose weight. If one works for you stay with it, if it doesn't find one that does. I've lost 240 lbs over 2 years by just watching my fat grams and calories and drinking water. Congrats keep it up.

I also usually see a delay in the scale. Usually I have 2 or 3 weeks of so-so loss (under a pound) and then wham, a 3 pound loss. So it averages about monthly.

Anyway, Roni, I have a question. I have reached a weight that I tend to hover at, possibly my body seems ok at, and have reached a plateau. I have stayed about the same for 3 or 4 weigh ins. Do you have any suggestions on kickstarting my efforts again? I still have about 23 pounds to lose for my personal goal.

I love that.. "it will catch up". Finally starting to see evidence of that is awesome... it can get frustrating to keep doing the right thing and the scale says the wrong thing.

I got what you were saying... totally.

Keep up the good and hard work neighbor!

I also have a love/hate relationship with the scale ~ but I'm one of those who weighs everyday, but have my "official" weigh-in day as Mondays. It works for me and keeps me ontrack ~ although I don't put a lot of faith in the number, it's more of a guideline.

I know you aren't obsessing so much over the number...BUT, to get back into your comfort zone, you should maybe try to start counting your APs. You might need to be eating a little bit more on those days you are working out. I found, before I was pregnant and I was losing consistently, that if I used my APs for the day, I lost better. I've noticed on your food logs that you don't really account for those. Just an idea...but seriously, you're doing great!

Courtney (formeforlife)

I weigh myself daily when I remember. It's not really an obsession, it just keeps me in check with how I eat. I do the things I do to be and stay healthy. Not to look good in a bathing suit (Although, I wouldn't be so upset if I happened to look good in one!)

I'm in my third week on plan and just got on the scale despite the fact that my normal weigh-in is on Mondays. I was horrified to see that I was up. I'm trying to not let it bother me, but it's hard, having seen the number go down every other time since I started.

Great attitude. I find that I will often tell others not to get fixated on that number because it can fluctuate up and down so much. I know this to be true. But I still have a hard time applying that knowledge to myself. It's good to be reminded.

Wow, your post hit home today. I was up a pound after being perfectly on plan this week. I know there has to be a reason, and that it will come down. It just sucks to see it go up!
