Something’s going on…
December 13, 2007
I’ll say it again, a small shift in my schedule and I’m all off. Now that the semester is over, there just seems to be something going on with me. I’m not happy between 9-11PM unless there is food in arms reach. I think I need to mix things up a bit. Maybe I’ll start posting in the morning or hitting the gym after the toddler goes to bed. Something’s got to snap me out of it. I can feel bad habits starting to form. :~(

Snap out of it! Start calculating your points so that you have 2 points left over for 9 or 10 pm. That way you can have a yogurt and some fiberone or popcorn or another snack. If you know that’s a tough spot, plan for it!
You know you can do it!!

Or you could go to bed early!

I LOVE routine too…I always do best when everything is “normal”. Maybe the previous poster was right that a hot bath and early to bed might be just what you need! Can you say “over achiever”???

As Carolyn said, I make sure I eat enough at dinner that I only have a couple points left after dinner, that way I’m not eating up a storm.
I’m totally one for routine too, when I get out of sync, I always have a harder time.

Snap out of it!! I say this as I preach to myself and start day 1 AGAIN since I too have sunk back into bad habits and can’t seem to whip them. But, now that I have a black tie event ONE week away and that dress HAS to fit and I just feel disgusting I hope this is finally the time. First of all, take a break from having the Soy Crisps at home. Also, I agree with the 1-2 points for 9-11. Have something like Jolly Time popcorn, protein shake, or yogurt and fiber one instead. Also try and cut back on mindless empty snackin and focus on fueling your system.

I think you should be commended. Even when you go “off the wagon” you’re still choosing pretty good foods! When I go off the wagon, it’s too bury my head in a bag of cheetos. At least you choose soy crisps. Hey, it’s something right? :) Good luck to you. The first step is recognizing their is a problem, right.

Roni, this has nothing to do with your current post but I had to share…I absolutely love your “baked apple pie” oatmeal. I have found a way to decrease its point value by 2!! Walmart sells a sugar free Maple and Brown Sugar that is only 100 cal, 2g fat, and 3 fiber….pair that with a 50 cal, 0 fat and 2 fiber applesauce cup and you get a 2 point oatmeal! (separately their points would add up to 3 but if you add the calories together…I figure you’re mixing them anyways…you get 2 points!)

There is a frightening amount of typos in my comment above ( I was typing and on the phone- a bad combo) and I can’t figure out how to edit it. So I’m using this comment to say that frankly, I’m ashamed. :)

Roni you know what to do and you can and you will. Make a rule that you will only munch on 94% FF popcorn after 8 p.m. and nothing else unless it is a point free veggie. If you are going to snack make it a good one. Good luck we are all pulling for you.

That’s a killer-time for me, too! The ff popcorn is a good tip. I think a good one for me is to go upstairs to the study – there’s a couch for reading, a television, bathrooms to clean, clothes to put away – everything but food!

roni, Looking at what you eat, you are not eating enough in the morning and for lunch to keep you satisfied. PLAN,PLAN,PLAN!!!!!
No wonder you are hungry by the time dinner rolls around. Try eating 3-4 more points for lunch, like with protien or something. I bet you’ll do better. I agree with one of the comments that you are at least making good choices with your “splurges.” It’ll be okay. You are still w/in your weight range. GOOD LUCK,Roni! You are an inspiration.

I recently made a rule for myself that I will not eat after 8 pm and I go to bed at 10 pm. I can, however, drink a cup of decaf or hot chocolate during that time and that seems to help. I have realized that when I feel hungry during that time I’m mostly just tired and looking for a blood sugar spike.

RONI,
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO DO AFTER THE TODDLER GOES TO BED AND BURN SOME CALORIES AND EARN ACTIVITY POINTS, WHY DON’T YOU LOOK TO YOUR HUSBAND FOR A LITTLE LOVIN’. THAT’S WHAT WE DO 2-3 NIGHTS A WEEK AND IT HAS WORKED WONDERS. I HAVE LOST 5 POUNDS IN TWO WEEKS. GIVE IT A TRY AND I BET YOUR HUSBAND WILL LOVE IT TOO.

I’m half asleep on the couch by that time of night so I don’t have the nighttime eating thing. My deal is late afternoon when the kids are all busy and crazy.
You’ll get through it. Make sure to drink a big glass of water before that snack too. Less room in your belly to fill!

Roni… at my ww meeting this morning, our leader suggested resetting your points at 5 pm so you can adjust your eating in the morning and afternoon to your evening eating. I find that if I eat enough during the day, I don’t have the munchies at night.

Just a thought, but perhaps with hitting the gym hard lately you’ve actually gained in a good way, muscle mass is known to add some pounds/weight and then levels in terms of gain after going for a few months or so. :) So no beating yourself up! :)
