I feel your pain Roni! I have gained 6 pounds since 11/13. I know this because that was the last time I had my 6-week 'fitness assessment' with my personal trainer. I know it's not just water weight because my waist and hip measurements are up too. :P

Still, it's good that we check in every 6 weeks so I know how I'm doing either way. Like you, I'm not letting my weight gain get me down. I rejoined WW online and am getting back on the points counting wagon.

By the way, I loved your video for the quesadilla, and your tips made it turn out crunchy without added oil for frying(which is what I usually do). Thanks! :)

It is just water weight from being sick...it will come off. Don't stress. Just be mindful of what you are putting into your body. Feel better!

Roni,
I've been reading your pages for well over a year now. Just wanted to let you know it is a big help to read about your successes as well as your struggles. My scale was up 4 pounds after a few too many cookies (a lot to many, who am I kidding??), and its a relief to me to see a similar thing happen with you. Not that I would wish a gain on anyone here! But it helps me to remember that these things happen and its only temporary and we will all get back to where we want to be. Just have to stick with it! Thanks for all your insights and inspirations.

Hey Roni,

Hang in there. Your baby might be rebelling against the holiday stress we put on ourselves. Get some rest - forget your inbox and focus on you. Get well soon

RONI, GET YOURSELF TOGETHER. I KNOW THE HOLIDAYS ARE AN EXCUSE TO OVERINDULGE, BUT THE HOLIDAYS ARE OVER. YOU CAN GET BACK ON TRACK. I AM NOT GOING TO BE LIKE SOME OF THE OTHERS AND SAY OH IT HAPPENS...IT'S THE HOLIDAYS. NO NO NO, GET IT TOGETHER. YOU HAVE WORKED SOOOOOO HARD. EVERY POUND YOU PUT BACK ON IS ONE YOU HAVE TO TAKE OFF AGAIN. YOU ARE SUCH AN EXAMPLE OF WORKING HARD TO GET THERE. YOU DID IT THE HARD WAY. DIET AND EXERCISE. I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT. BE A LITTLE HARDER ON YOURSELF. IT'S NOT OK THAT YOU ARE AT YOUR HIGHEST. GET IT OFF.....KEEP IT OFF. I BELIEVE IN YOU.

I was thinking about this the other day. It seems like it's about 3500 calories to lose a pound, but roughly an extra 1250 will make you gain one.

Watch out. Everyone around here is coming down with the stomach flu. *knock on wood*. I'm just keeping on with my healthy food and running and keeping hand sanitizer with me at all times. I hope you feel better soon.

I know how you feel...my scale creeped up a bit too much this holiday season. My flu yesterday helped me drop about 4 pounds overnight, though! Not that I'd recommend that! I hope you feel better and I'm sure now that the holiday season is over you'll be back on track in no time.
