Much Needed Return to Routine

I HOME!!! YAY!
The wedding was fun but it’s nice to get back to normalcy. I do have to say, all the dancing practice with the toddler paid off. He was the hit of the dance floor!
As for my eating…
bleh, Bleh and BLEH!
I did horrible. I noticed something this weekend. When I’m busy and out of my element I tend to eat just because food is there not because I’m hungry. (well duh) But to make it worse if I do get hungry I make bad choices. For example at the reception cocktail hour there was a fruit and veggie plate, a cheese plate and a host of fried appetizers. What did I eat? You guessed it, everything but the fruit and veggies. I was in that out of body, self-denial, it’s only the weekend special event mode. You know, the “It’s there, I’m hungry so I might as well treat myself” mode. I also hit the brownies REALLY hard. But man they were good!
HOWEVER
That’s a big however. (did you notice) ;~)
I DID go to the hotel gym the morning of the weekend. I know I didn’t work out enough to counter act the enormous amounts of food I consumed but I did it and I’m counting that as a big Non Scale Victory (NSV). I also hit the gym tonight and did 30 minutes on the bike.
So I’m ahead of the game on workouts but I need to get my diet back under control. To help, I made a huge pot of veggie chili similar to Vegetarian Chili over Spaghetti Squash (I’ll post an updated recipe soon). This way I have a bunch of healthy lunches for my long days at work. Preparation and planning is key, so I also stocked up on healthy snacks from the grocery store.
I’m ready to face this week! You with me?

Hey Roni,
When you get the “time”, ha!… Maybe you could do a post on your typical day (eating wise) while beginning and during your weight loss?

Hi Roni,
It sounds like you are already on track with your planning and cooking up the batch of vegetarian chili.
Quick suggestion … you are a lifetime WW member, that’s a huge accomplishment. Go to a weigh in with your favorite leader and use them to help with your motivation.
Just a thought…

Yes, I’m with you – last week was horrible, but this one is starting out great.
Can I ask…what are you planning for Thanksgiving? I am supposed to do ours (have never cooked it before) and would like to stay OP as much as possible!!

Hi Roni,
I am so with you. i realized that my main reason for failure is taht I am nto spending enough time planning. i go with the day, and count points as i am eating them. Well, in the evening I get hungry and i dont have enought points, and lots of fruits and veggies will not do.
SO last night, I took 10 min. with the timer tick tocking and I planned my food intake for today. Of course, I started with the hot cocoa and popcorn evening snack, then My yummy morning shake, with 1 pt. muffin, then I worked in the rest of the day. Today I am munching away at the food, knowing what i had and will be able to have. I am empowered. I own the day. The junk in the lunch room, lots less tempting, because i have my plan. feeling good!!! So yes, I am with you!

I have the same, “eat with no reservations” affliction when I’m on vacation, at a party, etc… I’ve got to figure out how to stop that madness!

Don’t forget to count all of the calories that your burned while dancing with the toddler and chasing him around the wedding!!! The changing of the time has me in a funk! As the weather turns cooler and the days are shorter, I find myself wanting to snack all night long on unhealthy junk like Halloween Candy. Again, thanks for your amazing site! I check it almost daily!
