Virtual Kick in the Butt
September 10, 2007
This post is for all of you that need one. I’ve gotten an influx of questions regarding motivation again. The classic “I know what to do but I’m not doing it” question. Well somethings got to trigger it. For me it was my son and turning 30, for you it may be something else. Just remember life is moving on with or without you, you might as well be on plan and losing! Better yet at goal! There’s only one way to get there and you know what to do so DO IT!
If you need a bit more motivation read my old post, A Matter of Motivation. I was going to try an find you other motivational posts from other bloggers but, ironically, I’m not motivated. ;~)
As for today, my 12 hour Monday keeps me so busy I didn’t even have time to eat all my snacks! Now I’m hungry so I may make something, just not sure what right now.

I am taking your lead and I joined the new YMCA. My hubby’s best friend’s dad runs it and I took the tour over the weekend. I even signed up for a belly dancing class! Thanks for taking the first step and giving us a real view of what the Y is like.

I followed your link to your older post, and I liked it. It had a lot of good tips that can work for most people. Personally, when the motivation is low, trying something new works best for me. Also for me, following and trusting ONE diet wouldn’t work, since I don’t trust ANY of them fully. My tendency is actually to re-invent my diet every three months.
You have hell of a busy day. I have great difficulty with those kind of days, but it sounds like you are keeping your self fairly grounded. Good for you!

AMEN, Roni!
Thanks for your butt-kicking! You’re a great role model. I posted something last night about exercise… how no one is going to MAKE me do it. No one else is going to make me fit or thin… it’s all up to me. It’s not about willpower, it’s about fortitude. It’s about the daily choices I make, and like you said, it’s about doing what I know needs to be done. Thanks for the reminder! :o)

Hey Roni,
You’re always sharing your ideas, so I thought in return I’d share one of mine. It’s nothing special! I don’t know about any of you, but I always crave to snack or nibble while making dinner. So yesterday, I bought my first mango and sliced it up while making dinner and my fiance and I devoured it. It took a while to slice etc., so it took a long time to eat. Perfect to share and only 1 pnt each!

Roni, loved your motivational post!
I can’t promise to do as well as you did, but I’m doing a post on Re-Motivating tomorrow (Thursday Sept 13th) over at Cranky Fitness. Some overlap, obviously, since your ideas are really good and I can’t leave ‘em off the list. But I agree it’s a really important topic! I’ll try to throw a few other things in too, and as usual, it will be at least somewhat silly.
(And thanks again for introducing me to your readers, they’re awesome!)
