A Picture, a Product and a Pose?
So I’m going a little “P” crazy. I love coming up with titles for my posts! ;~)
First, “a Picture”, as requested I updated my Progress Photos page. I can NOT believe it’s been a year since posting a pic. That means I’ve been at goal over a year and this fact is still a unbelievable to me!
Second, “a Product”, William from EatSmartProducts.com was nice enough to send me the EatSmart Nutrition Scale. I’ve been using a plain old digital scale for years and really can’t live without it. Now, I may be hooked on the EatSmart Nutrition Scale. It allows you to put in a code for the food you are weighing and it tells you the nutritional info for that food. For example, this morning I knew I ate 100 calories of grapes this morning! So maybe I’m a geek but I find that REALLY COOL! For fresh produce and meats, this is a huge time saver for me. The scale even has a code for cooked whole grain pasta! No more measuring when dry and cooking mine separately! I’m so psyched. My only problem with the scale is the small buttons and the slow response time. It takes a few seconds for the display to update when you add more weight. For me though, it’s not a deal breaker. If you are interested in purchasing the scale, use the code WWATCHEN to receive 10% off.
Lastly, “a Pose”, ok ok OK, the big news. I guess I can share. I don’t know why I was hesitant in the first place. I may, hear me, MAY, be on the cover of Womens World magazine. I’m going for what they call a “Cover Try”. Their Creative Director saw my site and want’s to see how I look on camera. I think the story is on whole grain and high fiber pasta. I’m going to NY on Friday for the photo shoot. Wait, what? Did I just say that? It sounds so weird typing it aloud. So yeah that’s my big news. I’m trying NOT to get too excited, it’s only a try after all. We’ll see.
Ok, I’m off to bed. L-O-N-G day tomorrow.

| 8 oz light flavored yogurt | 2 |
| Vegetables and Shrimp over Angel Hair Pasta (estimate for now until I calculate nutritional info) | 6 |

What's Cooking in my kitchen?

I've recently discovered the amazing combination of cheese and dried cherries. I know, it sounds weird, but seriously… good! The other day I smeared some Laughing Cow Light Swiss on Cucumber slices and then topped with a cherry. It was a fun, sweet twist on standard cheese and crackers. Well, cheese [...] -
If I was a good blogger this idea would have been published BEFORE the Super Bowl not during it. I made these today to have a little fun. Surprisingly, The Husband liked them even though he didn't eat more than one. Why? Because he's strange like [...] -
If you read my weight loss blog you know I'm battling a bit of back and neck pain right now. I'm starting to feel a little better but those first few days where rough. Being the head chef of the household, this meant we ordered in a couple of times. I'm [...] -
I'm LOVING Pinterest! I can just scroll all day long looking at food photo after food photo. I wish I had more time to peruse! (I'm RoniNoone there by the way?) The other day I pinned a Portabello Mushroom pizza and was immediately inspired. It's such a simple idea and so light. [...] -
The other day I found myself craving an Orange Julius. Are they as popular as I think they are? Growing up we had an Orange Julius at our local mall. It was always a treat for us at the end of a family shopping trip. Once I was old enough to be [...] -
So I'm a little breakfast nutty at the moment. Little Bean LOVES eggs and I find myself cooking them more and more. This morning I decided to go super light (after last nights chocolate overload) and it was totally satisfying for just over 100 calories! The trick to making [...] -
A few weeks ago I saw Chef Michael Simon make a raw kale salad on The Chew. He sliced beets up real thin and cut the kale into ribbons. Then made a vinaigrette out of red wine vinegar and olive oil. I was immediately intrigued. So far I've only [...] -
I've had this idea for a quick creamy chicken dish for a few days now. It was time to give it a shot. The whole family LOVED it. I'm not joking. The only complaint came from Little Guy who declared his hate of mushrooms yet again BUT he ate everything around them. Fine [...] -
I made this on a total whim yesterday as I had leftover avocado after feeding the baby and leftover Spaghetti squash cooked from the weekend. I roasted the squash to serve with my Chicken tips instead of potatoes and it was AMAZING! Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked. So I'm sitting there staring [...] -
It's post holiday season. You know what that means? Leftover Crescent rolls to experiment with! Every year for Thanksgiving I buy a few canisters. It's the only time I do as I can't be trusted around them. Let's just say I'd beat you in the How-Many-Crescent-Rolls-Can-You-Eat-In-One-Sitting game and leave [...] -
Last week the kids and I tried parsnips for the first time and I've made them 3 times since. I wanted to figure out the best way to roast them. Yeah, that's it, the best way to roast them. You'll buy that right? Right? The truth is, I'm obsessed. I found myself [...] -
Yesterday just felt like a good day to stuff an acorn squash. I had one sitting on my counter for quite some time and it was just begging to be cooked. Since both husband and child don't like it I made a solo meal just for me and, well, it was DELICIOUS! [...] -
I bought a fennel bulb on a whim for the holidays not knowing quite what I would do with it. Of course I forgot about until yesterday when I was rummaging through the fridge trying to figure out what I wanted to make for breakfast. I pulled it out and stared [...] -
I probably should have warned you I was taking a holiday hiatus. I've been soaking up every moment of family time imaginable these last few days, leaving no time for anything else. Not even blogging! Shocking I know. ;) So I return not with a new recipe, per se, but to [...] -
Here's a quick idea for when you find yourself with a spaghetti squash but don't quite know what to do with it. Come on. Admit it. That's happened to you too. It's sure happened to me! I roasted this squash on Sunday... [...] -
I'm not sure if this will be a crowd pleaser, but I liked it and thought I'd share in hopes it inspires you to have some fun with kale. I loved the combination of sweet pear, earthy kale, salty bacon bits and creamy hummus. The only issue with the wrap was [...] -
I'm going on day 2 of counting Weight Watcher Points and I'm already inspired to come up with light, healthy meals for myself. It's like I needed the constraint of points to motivate me. Isn't that weird? Anyway, all morning I was brainstorming what to make for lunch. I wanted something flavorful [...] -
I have a friend who patiently cleaned, peeled and cubed a fresh pumpkin and then selflessly gave me some. Scratch that, a TON! I would have never even thought of doing something like that! But now that I have it in my fridge the ideas are flowing. First, I roasted some [...] -
CHRISTMAS COOKIES! YAY! Sorry. I'm so excited! Little Guy and I had tons of fun making and decorating cookies today. It may just be my favorite part of the holiday season. I loved it when I was a kid and now I get to do it with my own kids. [...] -
This may be my simplest idea yet, but it was so tasty and satisfying I had to share. Plus you guys know I'm a Laughing Cow Community Leader so I'm all about sharing fun ways to use their products. You guys may also know how I feel about pausing and making [...] -
I made this on Thursday. THURSDAY! I hate when I can't post something I've eaten within 24 hours. It just bugs me. Not sure why, it really doesn't matter when I post it, does it? Anyway, I did whip this up to cure a pizza craving and I couldn't be happier. [...] -
It's been awhile since I jazzed up a tilapia fillet. I've breaded them before, coated them in oats, flavored them like one of my favorite drinks and topped them with a fun salsa. It was time to bring nuts into the party. You are going to think I'm crazy but I've [...] -
Fun leftover turkey idea #2! Click here for leftover turkey idea #1. I had a little Gouda leftover from this years Harvest Salad and decided to put all the same flavors from the salad into a quesadilla. I just can't get enough of the smokey gouda/sweet craisin combo. It goes [...] -
It's the day after Thanksgiving and my refrigerator ROCKS! I have leftover turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, roasted Brussels Sprouts, a bunch of veggies and tons of miscellaneous fun stuff. I've already made stock from the bones (like this) and my first batch of soup, Classic Turkey Noodle. I hope to share [...] -
I'm so sorry I've been slacking in the Thanksgiving recipe department. I feel like a bad food blogger. Everyone else is posting festive ideas and here I've gone missing for a few days. Maybe it's because I'm not doing anything special for Turkey day. I finally got my holiday cooking [...]

Seriously though, I’ve been wanting a digital scale but I’m just so damn cheap. Your review may be the push I need…

Roni, I’ve been reading your post for some time now (it’s a morning work ritual – don’t tell my boss!). And I love it! I often sort of compare my progress to you, as I’m aslo 5’9″. I’m wondering – what size did you wear (if you remember) when you were around 155? I know our bodies are all very different – and I know you said the pants in the picture are a size 6. I’m a little disheartened, as I’m currently a size 10-12 and even when I weighed what you do – I could never get below a size 8 pants. Maybe I’m bigger on the bottom than you – since I can wear a size 8 dress now.
Sorry – I know you don’t need all of the personal info. Just curious on what your personal weight range was on each pant size??
Thanks! You look incredible – and it’s all your own doing – kudos to you!
OH, wow!!! Cover girl in NY! That’s awesome.
wow!!! that’s great!! as a former new yorker, the trip alone is a prize, you’ll have a blast, and you are a shoe-in for that cover, you are such an inspiration.(p.s. iam getting that fabulous scale!)
Hi Roni. Contrats on the Women’s World opportunity!! I’m a reader of your blog and wanted to share that I was on the cover of Woman’s World last January!! I lost 30 pounds and got in touch with an editor looking for people who lost weight through eating whole grains as well. They saw my before and after photos and flew me to NYC for the photo shoot. I was an amazing experience. FYI, my cover looks NOTHING like me – they did me up to look like a show-girl from Vegas, but it was still so fun to have an all expenses paid trip and be on a cover! Email me at Kath2226@gmail.com if you want me to send you a PDF of the cover or have any questions : )
Kath

I love Women’s World magazine. You’ll have to let us know if we should watch for you in an upcoming issue!
WOW! Congrats- I’m jealous! I want your success story. 117 weeks later your “after picture” is amazing! I just can’t get over your accomplishments. Good luck with your photo shoot! You are a beautiful girl and I would definitely buy the magazine to read your story!
OH MY GOD! that is big news. Huge! is there anything we can do? Can we vote for you? Come and cheer you up?;)
I cross my fingers for you. You are a beautiful woman and I am sure you look great on any cover. Best of luck and keep us posted.
Thanks for posting the picture. Usually the pictures taken from “down” make people look bigger than they are and those pants are loose yet you look so great…I wonder how you would look like with the right angel and tight jeens!
You are the best inspiration one could ask for!
Anar
OMG- It is so cool you might be on the cover of WWM!!! :-) ;-) If your new progress photo is any indication, I think you are going to make a great covergirl!! Can’t wait to hear how the trip goes! Enjoy NYC! AJ

That is amazing!!! Congratulations!!! I just have to say that seeing your most recent picture, first, you look completely beautiful :) But, second…to look at your photo of you now, I would never guess that you have EVER in your life been overweight. You look like one of the girls that I would secretly give a ‘look’ to, because I’m jealous and think that they have never been where I am. And look at you. It is SO doable! You look amazing!
WOW, you look so fantastic!!! You are such an inspiration. Thank you for post your new pic and for everything you do to help me keep on track ((hugs))
Wow, I wish someone would send me a free digital scale! I’m too broke too afford one.
What a great photo!
Hi Roni!
One question I have been wondering as I read your site is whether or not you plan to have more children. You look amazing, but with your tummy tuck, etc. I have been curious about that.
Sorry I had to post here. I couldn’t find an email address anywhere.
Thanks!
WOW!! Thank you so much for all the support guys! I still can’t believe it!
To answer some of the questions, and sorry it’s too late to address people individually…
Weighing in at 155 I was a 10ish. Check the progress pics I posted what size I was wearing.
As for the kids, no more planned. I’m happy with the one I’ve got! ;~)
ummm and I think there was something in there about helping me. Believe me you guys do enough already! Just the support I get in AWESOME!
THANK YOU!
Roni, good luck on the test shoot! That is so exciting! I feel like I know you from reading your blog, you have been such a huge inspiration to keep me going. I’ve lost 43.5 pounds so far and have 15 left to go! I can’t wait to read all about your trip to NY!! GOOD LUCK!
Michele
Put Roni on the cover! She is inspiring and beautiful. We will all buy a copy…
Roni- You will look beautiful on the cover! You deserve this for all of the motivation that you give all of us everyday!!
I was interested in the scale you wrote about, do you know how it compares to the scale WW offers?
