Ok so I totally sold out. A few days ago I was contact by an advertising agency asking if I would sell a bit of space on my web site. *sigh* What’s a girl to do? She has more fun doing this site then anything else. She spends almost every bit of spare time outside of work and family fun working on the site. She photos and preps almost every dinner she’s eaten for the past year. She spends countless hours reading ingredients and nutritional information of products at the grocery store. She created and continues to support the BEST (*wink* *wink*) community site on the web (keeping up as much as she can).

I can go on and on. The funny this is (as I re-read this) it sounds like so much work but I LOVE every minute of it. I feel like I have finally found my creative outlet, my canvas, my way to connect with others and just share ideas, thoughts, encouragement, etc. All right, I’m getting cheesy but I mean it. I really love doing this.

So back to this advertising agency thing, I struggled with the decision for a bit. I mean I’ve always done the google ad thing but that was more of an experiment and study for my web classes (remember I teach web development). Plus it’s so ingrained on the web and I’m not specifically “renting” an area of my site. I don’t know, it just seems different.

I’m getting long winded…. I realize this.

Long story (trying to be) short I said said yes. I laid out the site a little different as not to “ruin the user experience” as we say in the web world. I hope it doesn’t bother you much. I promise no seizure inducing blinking things and I promise I will always let you know if I get sent a product for a review. This web site is my opinions and ideas. OH! and I used this new layout as an excuse to jazz things up a bit, what do you think?

On to other topics….

You have all convinced me! I’m definitely joining the gym. I may even go tomorrow. What am I saying, I AM going tomorrow. Honestly, I’m excited, it did look fun and I want to feel stronger, more in shape. I’ll keep you posted on all gym fronts.

I DID NOT get to a meeting today like I said. I was totally wrapped up in work, looked up and realized I missed it. I AM going tomorrow. End of story, nothing else to say.

I’m glad you’re doing it. Do you read dooce.com? When she did it, people attacked her, but HELLO!, if people don’t like it, then they can make their own site. I, for one, am glad you’re doing it so I don’t have to pay you for all the wonderful support you give. I would pay you, by the way, if I could!

I have no problem with ads as long as they dont take over the site and they arent disguised as you saying something. I hope you can make money because this is the best site for real world imformation.

What you wrote about to do with vacation weight gain is so helpful to me to realise this is a journey with bumps but if we stay on the path most of the time we will get there. On vacation this week I gained 2 1bs and dident eat crazy but I say to myself “its not 2 1bs of fat” and it will be off in days.. I’m totally back on track and glad to be online to get inspired by you. I’m at my ww goal but not my personal goal.. I want to be another 12 1bs less that will take me to a 50 1bs loss eventually.

You know, you should think about a “change of career”. In web design. There are tons of companies- real estate agencies, small businesses, etc– that need people to create, decorate, and update their web spaces. I don’t really know how to go about it, but since you enjoy it so much it would be a great “canvas” for you. Plus… it is usually one of those “work from home” type jobs. Just some food for thought.

Well, I saw the advertisement and I said “Finally!”..it was about time to do it. I read this article about bloggers who male big bucks and it instantly reminded me of you. Why not? It will only add to your motivation which we will benefit from directly.

I don’t have any issues with you having ads. Just as a cautionary tale, however, you might want to read this: http://www.buzzmachine.com/2007/06/23/buying-their-voices/
