Little Miss Sunshine

Date August 9, 2007

Have you seen it? If not, I highly recommend renting it. It’s a feel good movie with some great laughs. The story follows a dysfunctional family as they take there daughter to compete in the Little Miss Sunshine contest. I’m watching it right now with tears streaming down my face from laughing so hard.

While watching the movie I’m enjoying my newest guilt-free pleasure, ‘Who Needs Ice Cream’ Banana Split! This is after a fabulous Y workout completing my second weight training circuit this week. Why didn’t anyone tell me how good you feel when you work out? If I knew this, I would have been exercising all along! Seriously, for those on the fence about working out, try it for a few days in a row! I feel fantastic. I’ve gone to workout every day this week. Now we’ll see if I can keep this up. I’m not going to lie, I’ve fallen off the workout routine wagon before. I never joined a gym though so I’m hoping that’s the difference for me this time. I’m also thinking of creating a workout progress page where I track my routines. Why not? It worked for my weight, right? I truly believe staying true to the journal (whether online or not) makes a huge difference in your success.

Speaking of journals…

  1. I ::heart:: Little Miss Sunshine!! I was lucky enough to see a preview with the directors and I have never been to a movie where the whole audience was crying and laughing and giggling and we all clapped FOUR times during the movie. The directors are really cool (husband and wife team) and I recommend it to everyone too. I even have a bright yellow tee shirt that says “everyone pretend to be normal” LOL! AJ

  2. I’m so glad you are loving the gym! I’ve noticed a huge positive shift in my moods since starting training…..I feel all sad now on days when I don’t get to exercise. ;)

Love love LOVE Little Miss Sunshine, too. I think I’ve forced everyone I know to watch it with me. So much fun!

  3. Sound like you’re doing great… looks like the scale was kind today too!!!

  4. Loved Little Miss Sunshine!!!

  5. Too funny. Last night at about 9 o’clock I was watching Little Miss Sunshine and sharing a version of your “Who needs Ice Cream Banana Split” with the BF!! BTW, we both LOVED it. I had a can of FF Reddi Whip I topped it with as well, mmm!
You are doing a fantastic job with the gym, isn’t it such a great feeling!

  6. the results of the workout is really amazing.

  7. I haven’t seen it yet but have heard great things about it. I may need to add it to my netflix que.

I know what you mean about working out. Unfortunately for me I need A LOT of motivation to get started and then to stick to it for a few days.

I’d love to see a progress page, maybe that would help not only you, but to inspire those of us who are tettering abotu starting.

  8. I am with Swizzle - I just have the hardest time getting motivated….I can’t ever find anything I like either……the elliptical machine almost kills me - a lot of it is the fact that I want to be fit when I first start…..it makes me angry at myself when I am whipped after 15 minutes! You gotta do the progress page - I need the momentum!

  9. Congrats on the workout progess. I can’t wait to try the new dessert.

I wasn’t a big fan of Little Miss Sunshine. I found it kind of depressing. Different strokes for different folks.

  10. I love the movie too…It is an instant classic! I love the talent and she is sooo sweet…Speaking of sweet the ‘Who Needs Ice Cream’ Banana Split! is wonderful. The b-friend and I split one…you were right more than enough for two. He and I both loved it. He does not like foods that are too sweet, but this was just right. Yummy.

  11. I have it set to record on the DVR tonight! Can’t wait to watch it :)

  12. Umm, I think I told you lots of times.

    : )
