That’s right….
It’s fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A
Okay do you have the melody stuck in your head yet? Good. :~)
We are celebrating my joining of the “Y”. That’s right I DID it! The husband thought I was crazy. He walked in the door from work and I said, “get you sweats on, WE’RE GOING TO THE GYM!” We packed the toddler up and hit the road. I was in a rush because the childcare center closed at 8pm and I knew signing up would take a bit of time.
I was right, we only ended up getting 20 minutes BUT we went. I promised myself I would and I DID. That’s what matters. I did a bit on the bike and played some basketball with the husband. We had a blast! You guys were all right, I can see this becoming a habit. I‘m not going to lie, I’ve tried this before and it never lasted. I always had good intentions but the routines didn’t stick. However, this time I’m involving the family and all of YOU! I feel a bit more responsibility to myself to keep it up this time. Let’s see if it does the trick! I have to admit I’m super excited.
Besides the gym, I wanted to talk about the scale. Today I happened to get on 3 different scales, 1 for my morning reading at home, 2 at my weight watchers meeting, and 3 at the doctors for my appointment. Three scales, three different times of day, three different numbers, 142.5, 141.6 and 144. Tell me again why we all allow the scale to affect us so much. I mean just look at how fickle it can be. The point I’m trying to make… One, even two scale readings should not affect our moods so much. Follow your plan, take it day-by-day, focus on the trend and, most of all, be honest with yourself. You know when you are making good choices and when you can do a bit better.
Sorry I got a bit preach there.
Here’s the menu, week 1 almost done and I still have flexies left! Good thing too, tomorrow the in-laws are coming to town and we are going to dinner. This reminds me, I may be MIA for the next few days. Between the company and traveling to our friends wedding on Saturday, I’m going to be swamped.

I have to admit I’ve always lost weight with working out first, but never been successful for very long b/c my eating is out of control. I’ve learned this time around with the help of WW how to handle the food end of the rope. My trainers in the past have told me its 90% of what you put in your mouth and 10% exercise, so with all that being said it looks like you’ve figured out and mastered the hardest part.
My husband and I also work out together with our DS and DD in the daycare, it’s our bonding time. However I prefer the AM to get it out of the way….Congrats, glad you have a healthy new hobby!!

I walk everyday and I would love to do the YMCA. We have a newly renovated one 4 miles away that I’ve been told is amazing. I think I’m going to check it out.

Roni, thank you so much for your little bit about the scale. I *really* needed to “hear” it today. I lost 2.5 pounds last week, putting me at my lowest weight so far. I was totally bouncing all week. Then, I weighted in this morning and had gained a pound. I tried to keep in mind what you have said in the past about the scale, but I was still feeling down. After reading about your 3 very different weights in 1 day, I am am starting to feel a bit better.
Thank you fo all you do! You are such an inspiration and motivation!

soon you’ll be a YMCA-regular and they’ll know you by name! ;o)
i’m always amazed at how different scale-readings can be — my boyfriend’s is significantly higher (2+ pounds) and much nicer… go figure…
enjoy the in-law visit… :o)

Now I can’t get that song out of my brain! I love the local YMCA, except for January when every person in town decides to get to the gym to renew their New Year’s resolution.
