I hear you Roni,
Still 1,000 miles away from home at my mom's and I'm skipping WI this week.
Damage control and getting back on track will happen after I get back home next week.
I certainly FEEL fatter, so for sure the scale reflects it!
I can't WAIT to get back home and back to my groove!
You take care!
Joy

I think that by giving into eating when you're not hungry or just because its there is just you being real. I've often thought about thin people and have concluded that either a) it really is natural to them or b) they work so hard that they never ever give into anything. Eating and just giving into temptations is you being real. It doesn't mean you're going to gain back the (is it 70?) amazing pounds that you lost! You have yourself in check and aren't turning it into, "Well, I started now, I might as well just keep on eating..." That in and of itself is the victory! Cheers to a kickin' week!

We all go through this - I have been "going through this" for all of my adult life. Thank you for always being so honest and an excellent model for all of us - all we can do is get back on the wagon. I know you will have a fantastic week.

Roni,

You are such a blessing to us when you share your mistakes. We all have moments of weakness (like last night @ Logans when my DH ordered the Brownie explosion or whatever it is called!) But to see someone that has succeeded, maintained, and still going strong slip up and write about it, makes us all feel so normal and helps us to forgive ourselves. I am curious if anyone else has a day or two right before their cycle that they could eat the paint off the walls like I could!?!?!? It seems impossible to get that full feeling during that time.

Great work! Thanks for sharing and motivating us all!

Roni,
I think what really sets the maintainers apart from those that regain is the insightfulness like what you display. You have to know and understand your particular body and situation and find ways to create a weight control plan that works for you (which clearly you have done!) You know that ups and downs will have but you also know that you're in control of the situation (even after a splurge!) So have confidence that you'll hit the ground running and turn things around. Being on maintence over 2 years now, I keep myself in check by remembering how hard it was to lose such a large amount of weight (40 lbs for me.) To me, getting back on track before things get way out of hand is much easier than starting the program all over again...and I've come so far I know I can do anything I set my mind to! Good luck finishing your hectic summer- try to enjoy the time with your family even if it is spent running around crazy!

Emily

Ah... now I get it. :) Happens to everyone, and for me it's also motivation to hit it hard again. Oddly that is usually followed by a large loss for me, go figure.

Here's to hitting it hard this week! Woooo! :)

Hi Roni, I am having the same sort of problem the past couple of days. I just can't stop eating. This I think is fulled by my students giving me boxes of chocolates as an end of term gift (Why can't they just bring me flowers?!?) I am off to the gym this morning and trying for a good weekend.

Wondering if you still have the recipe for a dessert that was on your old site...it was some sort of pumpkin loaf with apple sauce, not really sure, but i don't think it is on here.

Amy - what a great comment!!! Roni I agree wholeheartedly - sometimes life is just tough and staying OP is tough but the good thing is that you already know what your secrets are so you can fall back to the "old school" stuff and get right back to where you want to be.......you're an overachiever and you expect so much out of yourself sometimes - you do so much for so many of us and we fail to even say thank you!! SO THANKS - we are all pulling for you - next week will be positively fabulous!!!
