Since I've moved home from the summer I've found it impossible to stay on track with my diet, and have actually gained weight back :(
Glad to see I'm not the only one who has trouble staying on track with family around.

You know, I don't think you did as bad as you think? I see plenty of produce, fiber, a bit of dairy, and a reasonable number of kisses as a treat. You know yourself and whether you were truly hungry, but without minimizing your feelings, I did want to say that I was expecting to see a pizza-fest or a half a pound cake gone! I don't know anyone who packed on pounds eating melon. ;)

Anyway. When I have a high-points day, I often find I eat much less the following day. Perhaps that is where you are today.

In any case, it is so much easier to be on track when you are on your usual schedule and in your own kitchen. You'll be there soon!

I'm right there with you about going to mom's house. She basically has our entire menu planned out before we even get there. I end up eating things that I normally never eat.....like huge breakfasts of french toast, bacon, etc, etc. Just do the best you can and get on track AS SOON as you get back. It won't help to get down on yourself while you're there.

I didn't think you did that bad personally... You probably ate more than you should but it looks like (for the most part) it was all healthy stuff.

I can completely relate - but the problem is at my in-laws' house. There is NOTHING whole grain or low fat: no whole wheat bread, no yogurt, cottage cheese, lowfat dressings, "better" cereals, etc. Let's hear it for full-fat mayo, butter, sour cream, white bread, bacon, sausage, sugar, etc.

The last time I went, I brought my own yogurt, soy snack mix, oatmeal, Splenda, and protein bars. I just try to minimize the potential eating disaster when I'm there.

I cannot even begin to tel you how I can relate to your situation at your mom's house. The ONLY way I can eat healthy when I go there is if I do all the cooking....and quite frankly, when I'm away from home, I don't know if I want to do all the cooking when I'm away from home. It's really hard. AND, I can TOTALLY relate to your problems with not being on your school year schedule. I've been writing about it almost all summer on my own blog. The schedule is so important to me! Try to just have fun at your mom's....looks like you're eating boatloads of melon...could be a lot worse!

I have the hardest time at my Mom's house when it comes to eating. Her cooking is just soooo good. Plus it's all about comfort and feeling "at home". The fact that food = love at her house doesn't help if you're on WW (or any other program for that matter). So what I do now is to have a little of everything and that keeps me satisfied and her happy.

I agree with you, when I'm at work I do much better sticking to my plan. I'm just glad to know I'm not the only one that falls off the wagon on vacation. I'm going on vacation next week and have no intention of even trying to count points, I just want to enjoy myself and pay the price when I get back. I know I won't want to step on the scale. I'm just glad I've lost enough weight already that I won't just blow off the whole diet. Thanks for all your entries. Are you going to put back on your site the "Recipes by photos"? Have a great weekend!

Vicki (Michigan)
