Rebuilding Underway!
I still cannot believe it, two years of work down the drain, all your great blogs gone in an instant, the journal documenting my entire weight loss process gone, the message boards gone, my recipes. It’s a bit overwhelming. Ok that’s enough pouting. It happened. It’s over and I’m moving on!!
First thing I want to say is thank you SO much for all the supportive emails! You guys really are the BEST!
On to moving on, first, of course, the day the site goes down I have like a million things to tell you. I made a great new recipe (Portobello cherry stuffed pork) my “fanciest” yet! I will post it as soon as I get my new system down, which leaves me to my agenda… updates.
1.) My first task is to get some of my site rebuilt. I have all of the pictures and recipes on my hard drive and I was able to pull many of my pages from Google cache. Bear with me it will probably be a slow process. If there is a recipe you need, email me and let me know, I’ll move it to the top of my list.
2.) Rebuild the Boards. It will be the fastest thing I can to do to start rebuilding the community. It’s not as labor intensive as the blogs and I should be able to get them up fairly quickly. **biting my nails** I THINK!
3.) The last thing on the list is the blogs. This, by far, has been the hardest for me to swallow. We had over 400 AMAZING blogs! I’m not sure I have it in me to rebuild and have the responsibility of hosting them all for you again. Let’s see how things pan out.
There you have it. My loose rebuild plan. Of course the next three weeks are my busiest personally. First, I’m going to Vegas this week with “the girls”, next week I will be watching my niece (another toddler) and the week after that is our family outing to the beach. Where does the time go?
I did manage to journal today, although I nibbled a bit. I don’t have it in me to count points right now but here’s the morning weigh in and food list.
Morning Weigh In: 141.5
- Berry VitaMuffin Cake (recipe will be resposted) and an orange
- Fruit cup
- 2 ears of corn
- 2 mini corn muffins (recipe will be resposted)
- Leftover big pot o’ stuff (recipe will be resposted)
- 8 oz light yogurt
- 100 cal pack
- Portobello cherry stuffed pork (recipe to come) with a side of sugar snap peas
- A handful of Doritos (total mindless splurge)
There you have it. I’m off to figure out the new system and start moving stuff.

I've recently discovered the amazing combination of cheese and dried cherries. I know, it sounds weird, but seriously… good! The other day I smeared some Laughing Cow Light Swiss on Cucumber slices and then topped with a cherry. It was a fun, sweet twist on standard cheese and crackers. Well, cheese [...] -
If I was a good blogger this idea would have been published BEFORE the Super Bowl not during it. I made these today to have a little fun. Surprisingly, The Husband liked them even though he didn't eat more than one. Why? Because he's strange like [...] -
If you read my weight loss blog you know I'm battling a bit of back and neck pain right now. I'm starting to feel a little better but those first few days where rough. Being the head chef of the household, this meant we ordered in a couple of times. I'm [...] -
I'm LOVING Pinterest! I can just scroll all day long looking at food photo after food photo. I wish I had more time to peruse! (I'm RoniNoone there by the way?) The other day I pinned a Portabello Mushroom pizza and was immediately inspired. It's such a simple idea and so light. [...] -
The other day I found myself craving an Orange Julius. Are they as popular as I think they are? Growing up we had an Orange Julius at our local mall. It was always a treat for us at the end of a family shopping trip. Once I was old enough to be [...] -
So I'm a little breakfast nutty at the moment. Little Bean LOVES eggs and I find myself cooking them more and more. This morning I decided to go super light (after last nights chocolate overload) and it was totally satisfying for just over 100 calories! The trick to making [...] -
A few weeks ago I saw Chef Michael Simon make a raw kale salad on The Chew. He sliced beets up real thin and cut the kale into ribbons. Then made a vinaigrette out of red wine vinegar and olive oil. I was immediately intrigued. So far I've only [...] -
I've had this idea for a quick creamy chicken dish for a few days now. It was time to give it a shot. The whole family LOVED it. I'm not joking. The only complaint came from Little Guy who declared his hate of mushrooms yet again BUT he ate everything around them. Fine [...] -
I made this on a total whim yesterday as I had leftover avocado after feeding the baby and leftover Spaghetti squash cooked from the weekend. I roasted the squash to serve with my Chicken tips instead of potatoes and it was AMAZING! Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked. So I'm sitting there staring [...] -
It's post holiday season. You know what that means? Leftover Crescent rolls to experiment with! Every year for Thanksgiving I buy a few canisters. It's the only time I do as I can't be trusted around them. Let's just say I'd beat you in the How-Many-Crescent-Rolls-Can-You-Eat-In-One-Sitting game and leave [...] -
Last week the kids and I tried parsnips for the first time and I've made them 3 times since. I wanted to figure out the best way to roast them. Yeah, that's it, the best way to roast them. You'll buy that right? Right? The truth is, I'm obsessed. I found myself [...] -
Yesterday just felt like a good day to stuff an acorn squash. I had one sitting on my counter for quite some time and it was just begging to be cooked. Since both husband and child don't like it I made a solo meal just for me and, well, it was DELICIOUS! [...] -
I bought a fennel bulb on a whim for the holidays not knowing quite what I would do with it. Of course I forgot about until yesterday when I was rummaging through the fridge trying to figure out what I wanted to make for breakfast. I pulled it out and stared [...] -
I probably should have warned you I was taking a holiday hiatus. I've been soaking up every moment of family time imaginable these last few days, leaving no time for anything else. Not even blogging! Shocking I know. ;) So I return not with a new recipe, per se, but to [...] -
Here's a quick idea for when you find yourself with a spaghetti squash but don't quite know what to do with it. Come on. Admit it. That's happened to you too. It's sure happened to me! I roasted this squash on Sunday... [...] -
I'm not sure if this will be a crowd pleaser, but I liked it and thought I'd share in hopes it inspires you to have some fun with kale. I loved the combination of sweet pear, earthy kale, salty bacon bits and creamy hummus. The only issue with the wrap was [...] -
I'm going on day 2 of counting Weight Watcher Points and I'm already inspired to come up with light, healthy meals for myself. It's like I needed the constraint of points to motivate me. Isn't that weird? Anyway, all morning I was brainstorming what to make for lunch. I wanted something flavorful [...] -
I have a friend who patiently cleaned, peeled and cubed a fresh pumpkin and then selflessly gave me some. Scratch that, a TON! I would have never even thought of doing something like that! But now that I have it in my fridge the ideas are flowing. First, I roasted some [...] -
CHRISTMAS COOKIES! YAY! Sorry. I'm so excited! Little Guy and I had tons of fun making and decorating cookies today. It may just be my favorite part of the holiday season. I loved it when I was a kid and now I get to do it with my own kids. [...] -
This may be my simplest idea yet, but it was so tasty and satisfying I had to share. Plus you guys know I'm a Laughing Cow Community Leader so I'm all about sharing fun ways to use their products. You guys may also know how I feel about pausing and making [...] -
I made this on Thursday. THURSDAY! I hate when I can't post something I've eaten within 24 hours. It just bugs me. Not sure why, it really doesn't matter when I post it, does it? Anyway, I did whip this up to cure a pizza craving and I couldn't be happier. [...] -
It's been awhile since I jazzed up a tilapia fillet. I've breaded them before, coated them in oats, flavored them like one of my favorite drinks and topped them with a fun salsa. It was time to bring nuts into the party. You are going to think I'm crazy but I've [...] -
Fun leftover turkey idea #2! Click here for leftover turkey idea #1. I had a little Gouda leftover from this years Harvest Salad and decided to put all the same flavors from the salad into a quesadilla. I just can't get enough of the smokey gouda/sweet craisin combo. It goes [...] -
It's the day after Thanksgiving and my refrigerator ROCKS! I have leftover turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, roasted Brussels Sprouts, a bunch of veggies and tons of miscellaneous fun stuff. I've already made stock from the bones (like this) and my first batch of soup, Classic Turkey Noodle. I hope to share [...] -
I'm so sorry I've been slacking in the Thanksgiving recipe department. I feel like a bad food blogger. Everyone else is posting festive ideas and here I've gone missing for a few days. Maybe it's because I'm not doing anything special for Turkey day. I finally got my holiday cooking [...]

Roni,
I am so sorry this happened! I really enjoy your blog and I will continue to read as you get everything together. You are at the top of my favorites list and not going anywhere!
We were a strong Community, so we’ll get through this! :) I already miss everyone!! Good Luck, and I am sorry that all your hard work has vanished!! I have been visiting your site for a year so it was really sad to see your message.
Oh Roni. I was so hoping that this was a little hickup when I got the error message. I loved the blogs and the boards! I have faith that you will have the Community up and running again in no time! Good luck!!
I too was hoping it was a hiccup and that they would be able to bring everything back up for you. I had become so attached reading everyone’s blog, in the short time that I was apart of the blogs and community. I will continue to read your site and wait patiently and keep my fingers crossed that you can get all your hard work back up.
Roni,

Oh Roni-
I am so sorry! I am looking forward to watching this site grow from the ground up, however long it may take you! Thank you SO much for all of your hard work- your site keeps mr going!!
Hi Roni
I only just found you this weekend. I just started reading your story and going back in your archives and I was so looking forward to finding out more about your journey.
I am so sorry that this happened. I can only imagine how you feel after building what I could see is a very close knit community not to mention your own journey documentation.
Take heart that your new community will be bigger, stronger and no doubt doubly backed up :)
Roni—
How devastating. We are all here for you, though, and will be back when you get up and running again. I’ve recovered some of my blog from the Google cache and started a blogspot page to continue what you helped me start, so it’ll all be fine in the end. I’m glad to see people posting here. I hope we can all stay in touch through the boards! Stay strong. I bet you’ll rebuild and will be bigger and better than ever. ;)
Erin (“Taking The Reins”)
Wow… what a pile of unexpected stress. The cool thing is that so many people will be waiting for you to be a back and you will be, chances are even better than before!
Karen
oh wow – what shock! …i’m so sorry. we’re all here for you though and i look forward to watching the community rebuild. *hugs*
Roni,
I was so sad when I seen your note. I hadn’t been on all weekend and got on to catch up on you and some fellow bloggers. I am thrilled you are rebuilding and all of your recipes will be back again soon. I know it’s a long journey so we’ll be here waiting when you’re ready with it all! :) {HUGS!!!}
Roni, I just can’t believe how much I depended on your site, I check it every weekday so I was so shocked this morning when I checked in. I will be patiently waiting for you to repost your recipes. Good luck with all of it. I have a hard time believing there was no backup either. I can certainly understand being physically sick over it, I know I would be. Enjoy your time off in Vegas.
Vicki
Keep your head up, everything will get back to the way it was!
Good Job on your Weigh In! Down 3lbs from the “scary point” last week! Congrats.
NO – WAY…..I am shocked and so sorry for you, I can not imagine! I feel so bad too!! You have the right attitude though, you will make it through!!!!
Hey Roni,
I knew you would come up with a plan. I am thrilled to hear your recipes are going to be available. I look forward to reading about the rebuilding. We all appreciate what you do and will patiently await the reconstruction. Enjoy LasVegas. I will be going in August for the first time. So I’d love to hear all about it.

Oh no! I just found your site this past week, and I’ve been hooked! No more zucchinni fries? Say it ain’t so, Roni! Well…you seem to be a determined woman, so I know this little setback won’t keep you down! You’ll get everything back in working order again…bigger and better than ever before. Don’t give up inspiring us. We need you.
~Tina in AL~
Roni,
Sorry to hear that you lost everything.. I know that you can rebuild it to be better than before.. You are an inspiration. Because of you, and a few other things, I have decided to take control and join WW… I’m so glad I found this site! Thanks, and Good Luck!
Roni
We are still the community and we will stick together. This is just a minor setback. Enjoy your vacations, we will all be here when you get back.
All the good you have done for people doesn’t get deleted!!!!

Roni:
I’m so sorry this happened. I just got back from vacation and found this. If there is any way I can help please let us know.
Caroline
Oh wow.
Roni I am so sorry this happpened as you have been a true inspiration to me. I hardly ever comment but I read your blog daily and enjoy it so muvh. Your ideas, thoughts and recipes are wonderful so dont let this discourage you.
Wow! I read your site sometimes and have really found some great stuff here. I’m sorry about the crash. Something similar happened to a forum I helped run about 6 months ago. Total catastrophic loss of every bit of data we had. I cried. A lot. *HUGS* I know this is hard to deal with, I hope it’s not too hard to rebuild.
Hey Ya’ll..if you create a new blogspot due to losing yours on weightwatchen make sure you make it accessiable to everyone. I went to add some of you that I would read daily and it says you have not made your blog available… Aww.. miss you guys and hope all of you have a great OP day. We will be back.
Colette
I have an idea…what about if we all make our own blogs at https://www.blogger.com/start or http://www.extrapounds.com/ (or wherever), email you the link to our blogs, and then you could list them either to the left or as a separate page. Then you would not have to host them all but we could still keep up with each others. What do you think?
I am so very sorry this happened. I know you have put your heart into this site and feel terrible that your 2 years is just gone. Thank you for being persistent enough to keep it going even if it means rebuilding. We are all here to help and support you! Thank you for your site!!
You’ve already accomplished so much since your first message yesterday. You are amazing!
Have fun on your vacations! We are all here for you!!
Roni… sorry about the data going down the drain! I will be sure to keep lurking at your site because you have the most amazing info and recipies and are the most wonderfully inspiring everyday girl! Keep on keepin’ on! Anne:):)
I am so sorry that you lost all that work, but it is nice of you to rebuild :) You have and will continue to be an inspiration to all of us! Good Luck with rebuilding… we are all behind you! ((hugs)) I will continue watching your progress!!!
Roni, I’m so sorry this happened :(
I’m was new (determined to be fat no more)
